Information and Communication Technologies Research 2009-2010:
The 2009-2010 work programme of the European Union's 7th Framework Programme will be unveiled at the end of 2008. The work programme will set out the challenges and objectives for ICT research funding for the next two year.

Are you interested in responding to calls for proposals for projects in the field of Information and Communication Technologies? Would you like to meet other people having similar or complementary research interests?
This one-day event is specially designed for you!
The event is designed to help you meet potential collaborators and facilitate the formation of research consortia. European Commission staff will also be present to advise on the specifics of the 2009-2010 work programme, and on the general rules and procedures for participating in calls for proposals.
Advance preparation: use this website to make the most of the Proposers' Day
Forthcoming features on this site will allow prospective participants to present proposal ideas and express interest in those of others in advance of the Event itself. This will be possible using "comment" facilities relating to specific fields of research. Through these comments, participants will be able to view each other's public profiles and establish advance contact through the site's messaging system.

Setting the ICT research agenda for the next decade
The next ten years will see major transformations in the technological, industrial and business landscapes surrounding information and communication technologies, or "ICT". ICT 2008 will set the agenda for ICT research and innovation in Europe during this crucial decade.The event will host leading visionaries from academia and industry and will address topics as diverse as Europe's role in shaping the future internet, ICT's contribution to advancing the sustainability agenda and alternative research paths for future ICT components and systems. These and many other cutting-edge themes will be explored in depth at ICT 2008.

Objectives
The objective of Community actions in this field is to help structure the European Research Area. A first group of actions aims to reduce the fragmentation of the European Research Area resulting from the coexistence of several national and regional public research programmes by favouring actions supported together by several Member States and the Commission (such as joint calls, joint programmes, etc.).
